The concept of this piece is of healing oneself after trauma in life. It is a message of hope in healing after toxic relationships and jobs and that you are never quite the same again illustrated through the visible cracks of putting yourself back together. The cracks are gold - a concept taken from Japanese pottery which shows the broken imperfect object as being more beautiful because of the imperfections and flaws from life’s experiences.
